šIs this really working for you?
The most successful founders know when to stop and look back.

Hey, itās Kat š
When was the last time you paused long enough to ask yourself: Is this really working for me?
We live in a world that loves more.
More launches. More productivity. More activities. More offers. More snacks.
Okay, I am a fan of more snacks š we can do more of that!
And while taking more action moves us forward in business, reflection is what keeps us aligned.
Without it, you can end up running a business that looks successful on the outside but doesnāt feel good on the inside.
š Why reflection matters more than you think in business
Reflection is about collecting data from your own experience so you can move forward with a clear focus.
When you take time to reflect, you see whatās actually working (instead of guessing), notice what feels heavy, and celebrate what went well so you donāt breeze past it.
Hereās what I mean:
⨠One of my clients realized after reflecting on her highest ROI tasks that she could cut the busy work that filled her Fridays. She took back her time and now she takes Fridays off, without sacrificing her revenue.
⨠Another client loved the results her coaching calls brought her audience, but dreaded the calls themselves. They drained her energy so much that she couldnāt work for the rest of the day. After reflecting on her energy and personality, she shifted her offers to better match her strengths and felt immediate relief and excitement again.
⨠And one of my clients realized, through deep reflection, that she didnāt enjoy her niche at all. After years of building a business that didnāt light her up, she made the bold move to pivot to a completely new niche and service. The result of this change? More ideal clients, more joy, and a huge shift in her overall energy.
These shifts happened because they paused long enough to listen to themselves instead of just pushing harder.
š My thoughts on reflection
Reflection doesnāt have to look like sitting at a perfectly curated desk, writing poetic paragraphs in a linen-bound notebook.
You donāt even have to write at all.
Sometimes I go for a walk and talk through my answers out loud (yes, I definitely look like Iām having a full conversation with myself. I call it a business meeting for solopreneurs š).
Other days, I type my thoughts because my brain is moving faster than my pen can keep up.
Whether you write, type, or talk it out loud while pacing your neighborhood, the point is to give your thoughts a place to land.
Reflection is about processing, not performing.
Journaling gives your thoughts a place to land so they stop spinning in your head. It helps you see patterns, clarify feelings, and make decisions from a place of alignment, not urgency.
Some of my favorite times to journal/reflect:
After a big launch or project
At the end of each month or quarter
When something feels āoffā and Iām not sure why
When something worked really well and I want to repeat it
When Iām overwhelmed by literally anything
Questions to guide your reflection
If youāre not sure where to start, try these:
ā What felt really good in my business this month?
ā What felt heavy or draining?
ā What do I want more of?
ā What do I want to release or simplify?
ā What would future-me thank me for doing right now?
ā Imagine your ideal business: What would it look like exactly? Be specific.
ā How is that different from my current business?
ā What would I need to do to make that a reality?
šÆ This Weekās Action
Set aside 15 minutes this week to answer just one of those questions.
You donāt need to write a novel. Even a few honest sentences can reveal what needs to shift.
Reflection is about making sure the direction youāre running in is one you actually want to go in.
If you feel like youāre caught up in busy work or trying to do all the things. Taking some time to reflect is the best way to realign those sails and adjust direction.
š«” Ready to go deeper?
If you want support as you build a stronger self reflection habit, I created something just for you with my business friend and client, Zoe Bishop.
The 90-Day Self-Reflection Journal Prompts guide you through daily questions that help you understand your thoughts, celebrate your progress, and design the life and business you actually want.

Inside, youāll explore areas like:
ā Self-growth and mindset
ā Your work and big dreams
ā Health and wellbeing
ā Finances and wealth building
ā Relationships, hobbies, and more
These prompts are designed to help you make journaling a daily self-care ritual, even if you only have a few minutes each day.
Because the clearest answers usually come from within.
You just need a gentle nudge to ask the right questions.

š¦ Iām In Your Corner:
Youāre allowed to slow down.
Youāre allowed to pause.
Youāre allowed to build a business that feels good, not just one that checks all the āsuccessā boxes.
Growth isnāt just about going faster.
Itās about getting clear enough to go in the right direction.
Youāve got this.
š«” KM Tip of the Week:
The power of a post-project debrief.
After you finish a big project, donāt immediately rush into the next thing.
Take 10 minutes to reflect and ask:
ā What went well with this project?
ā What didnāt go well?
ā What would I change next time?
This quick debrief turns every project into a learning experience and allows you to make adjustments for the next one.
š« Meme of the week
When I go on a ātalking walkā to reflect and end up solving all of my business problems.

Iām off to do some of my own reflection this Wednesday morning.
Iām going to go through those questions myself since weāre halfway through the year.
Itās a great time to reflect on the last 6 months. Iāll likely be doing a walking/talking journal since thatās my current fav way of getting my thoughts out there.
Have a great Wednesday!
