šŸIf marketing is draining you... read this

The best marketing strategy? One that actually works for you.

Hey, it’s Kat šŸ‘‹

If the idea of marketing your digital product or course has ever made you feel like you would need to become a full-time content creator, this email series is for you.

Over the next few weeks, I’m diving into what I call energy-aligned marketing: A look at different ways to promote your offers that work and work for you.

Yes…I used the word aligned. Much to the disappointment of the LinkedIn gurus telling us to get rid of the word. I like it because it makes me think of getting all my little ducks in a row. But if there are wordsmiths out there that have a better word for me…let me know šŸ™‚

Okay, back to our energy-aligned marketing.

Whether you're an introvert, burnt out from social media, or just craving a system that doesn't require you to be ā€œonā€ all the time, you're not alone. šŸ™‹šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Some marketing advice focuses on what I call high-energy tactics: daily stories, constant posting, live video content, and what can feel like non-stop content creation.

But if that drains you… you're less likely to stick with it.

Digital product marketing doesn’t have to follow the same path as service-based marketing.

If your client acquisition relies heavily on 1:1 conversations, you’re now stepping into a new phase with digital products. One where your marketing system carries more of the load.

But that doesn’t mean you need to be everywhere.

Here’s what we’ll cover in this email series:

šŸ The difference between low-energy and high-energy marketing methods
šŸ How to build a layered marketing system that fits your strengths (and mixes both low and high energy when needed)
šŸ Why deep thinkers make brilliant marketers
šŸ How to stay consistent without creating content 24/7
šŸ Examples of low-energy (but effective) strategies like Pinterest, SEO, email, and long-form content
šŸ Examples of high-energy methods like lives and launches, and how to use them intentionally

Marketing is about connection, not performance.
And you get to design a system that’s aligned with your capacity, personality, and goals.

If you haven’t read my post on creating programs that match your personality, you’ll love this one: Read it here!

And I’d love to hear from you:
What are you currently doing to market your digital products or services?
Hit reply and let me know. I want to include the channels you’re using in this series so I can show you how to layer them into a strong marketing system that works with your energy.

šŸ Let’s reframe what effective marketing looks like

For too long, visibility has been tied to high-energy levels.
Show up more!
Post every day!
You need to create Reels, TikToks, and don’t forget the carousels!

But visibility doesn’t have to mean performance.
You can be visible without being on all the time.

You can build demand without building burnout.

Some of the best marketers I know are quiet, thoughtful, and intentional.
They’re not the loudest in the room, but they’re the most strategic.

And that’s the real key: strategy over spotlight.

Does this mean we believe going viral won’t lead great results?
No.

It can lead to wonderful new opportunities for your business and can lead to greater results. But it can also lead to customers or audience members that aren’t the right fit, which can make future marketing efforts harder.

Strategy over spotlight doesn’t mean we don’t value our content being seen by many.

But it does mean that instead of focusing on trying to get into the spotlight by doing all the things, we focus on being strategic and building a strong marketing foundation.

This foundation (which is the layered marketing system we’ll cover in our series) allows you to benefit from both strategy AND spotlight in a way that works with your energy and your personality.

Let’s shift our thinking to: Build demand not burnout!
Your new marketing mantra!

šŸ’ Some observations…

Deep thinkers make brilliant marketers.

You pay attention to nuance.
You care deeply about connection and clarity.
You prefer resonance instead of volume.

That’s a powerful foundation for great marketing.

And that’s exactly what the low-energy marketing builds: slow-burn trust that leads to high-conversion results.

The drawback to being a deep thinker is that you second-guess everything you post, and you always want to share more depth than is needed at that moment (which can be overwhelming for your audience).

But leaning into those strengths can help you become a marketer that connects deeply with your audience.

Common pain points I hear from clients:

→ I’m tired of trying to keep up with social media. It’s exhausting.
→ I feel like I have to become someone I’m not just to get noticed.
→ I’m doing all the things but none of it feels right.
→ I want to market in a way that feels good and actually works.

They’re not alone in this.

You don’t have to perform to be seen.
You don’t have to post daily to build momentum.

There are more energy-aligned ways to grow, and they work. That’s what this series is going to help with.

šŸŽÆ This Week’s Action

Take note of what’s working and what you wish could be different in your marketing.

→ Is there a platform you dread showing up on?
→ Is there a tactic that used to feel good, but now feels draining?
→ Are you doing something because you should, not because it fits?
→ Are there marketing channels you’d prefer but you feel like you have to be on other ones?
→ If you could dream up a perfect marketing and content process that would energize you, what would that look like?

Write it all down.
Don’t put boundaries on your thoughts.
Let it all flow and just allow yourself to dream a bit.

Now that you have a list or have a vision written out, I want you to answer the following:

→ What is different about your dream marketing process compared to your current process?
→ What would need to change to make the dream process a reality.

Next week, I’ll walk you through sustainable, lower-energy marketing strategies that help you grow (even when you’re offline).

Because the best kind of visibility is the kind that works for you.

From there we will explore the higher-energy strategies and then combine the two as needed to create a solid 2-layer plan.

We’ll take this dream process of yours and start making it reality!

If you have the courage and time: send me your dream marketing process so I can encourage you and share insights with you to help make it a reality.

Just reply to this email and I’ll be answering you personally!

šŸ¦„ I’m In Your Corner:

You don’t have to be ā€œonā€ all the time, to be heard or seen.

You don’t have to post every day.
You don’t have to film behind-the-scenes reels of your morning coffee (and worry if you miss a week).
You don’t have to turn into someone else to succeed.

Quiet consistency can build trust.
Thoughtful marketing builds momentum.
And the right people will find you, even if you’re not the loudest in the room.

Trust your voice. It’s way more powerful than you think.

🫔 KM Tip of the Week:

Start with one platform you enjoy and build from there

If you’re overwhelmed by marketing advice, pause and ask:

Where do I actually enjoy creating or showing up?

That’s your starting point.
Instead of trying to be everywhere, pick one platform or method and go deep.

Once that feels good, you can layer on another.
Sustainable growth comes from stacking systems that suit you, not sprinting through strategies that burn you out.

Remember our mantra?

Build demand not burnout!

šŸ˜‚ Our meme of the week!

Journal prompt: How do you want your business to feel?
Me: Starts a novel.

Next week we’re digging into a list of powerful marketing methods that don’t require a ring light, a trending audio, or an energy level of 10.

Yes, marketing can be calm and effective.

Stay tuned… we’re just getting started.
